The beginning of the end!

Hello everyone!

This week has been quite amazing! We have had many things to do! As the title states this has been the last full week of this transfer thus marking the beginning of the end! I enter my final transfer of my mission this week and I'm so excited to work hard and give it my all.

As for the rest of the week, we have been in contact with a lot of people and have had a really good job at planning. We are working on active daily contact as a way for us to work with our friends! We have been seeing a lot of success from these news methods. Just a text, email, drop by, etc. Consistency.

This week, although we had a lot of time to find, it felt like it went by very fast! We had some amazing splits in the beginning of the week and got to enjoy our time together with these amazing Elders! Splits was definitely the reason why it went so fast but also because of the constant contact we always felt like there was something to do! It's good to keep things moving and to fill our day with important work.

One spiritual thing that really helped us this week was a lesson we had! This friend has sacrificed a lot to be where he is today and knows that the effect the Gospel will have on his life is extremely important! He has come to a great understanding but due to some hardships he cannot risk changing faiths as of right now!.We have been praying for him. I would encourage you all to do the same!

One fun thing that happened this week was that we went to play basketball with one of the sister's friends! I am not good at basketball but we had a blast talking to him and getting to know him! We realized just how important these normal and natural ways are in our missionary work! It is important to always try and find the right opportunities to share the Gospel. Even through basketball.

Thank you all for the support and I wish you a great week.

The Vision to Baptize!

Hello everyone! This week has been filled with some fun stuff so let's get right to the chase...

We had some time and a couple of lessons. We taught one of the sister's friends, Daniel, and then went to a lesson with another friend. We had dinner with him at a Burger place and it was delicious. We ask that you guys pray for him and his life. He has some important decisions to make!

As the title of the email states, we were invited the week before during our District council meeting to focus on baptism. We were invited to mention baptism or covenants in every single lesson that we taught in order to help them follow and understand the commitment. We saw two particular miracles from this. Due to this invitation we invited two of our friends to be baptized and put them on date. Their names are Leslie and Alexandru. They are in two completely different situations but the way we taught them just made it feel right. Keep them in your prayers too as they work towards this!

I would like to take a bit of time in this email also to mention the power of revelation for yourself and revelation that others can give you! It really is powerful to see how much we can learn from the promptings of the spirit. One prompting was definitely the change made in our standards that mentions bringing a member to every lesson. It has been such a blessing to have this opportunity!

This week we also had the opportunity to participate in Zone Konference! We heard some really good messages about the Book of Mormon and using it in our conversations and conversions! The focus was on giving invitations and working more closely with your wards. We even played Book of Mormon jeopardy and our team won!! A quick mention goes to the Social Media fast that we are holding this week as we are very excited to have a strong focus this week on sharing the Gospel on a more personal level!

The rest of the week was pretty slow as we had a lot of planning to get done and sadly my back was hurting quite a lot! We hope that we come back to full strength here this week so we can get even more done. There is even more delicious food to be made and eaten! Even better will be the people that we can talk to and the places we can see! Food is still up there though...

Thank you everyone for the support and prayers! I will post some pictures from our P-day today and then some of us throughout the week. I look forward to writing next week!

Sunshine and Sugar

Hello Everyone,

This week has been amazing! We have had a great time and look forward to being able to work for another week! Here is what happened!

We began this week with a little bit of chaos as we had a couple of appointments and even more service!. A big theme of this week was definitely service and getting to help those who can't help themselves. Throughout the entire week we had a total of three service projects and did a lot of yard work!

Another one of the highlights of the week was definitely the splits that we had on Wednesday! I went to Frederiksberg and had a split with Elder Franklin. He was an amazing missionary and loves being a ZL. We had a lot of good conversations with random people and just gotta have some fun! We did a very long lesson with a friend who has definitely had some challenges in life. The Gospel is a light!

Speaking of another form of light, the sun was shining the entire week! It meant that biking and walking around everywhere wasn't as annoying as it usually is! We got to enjoy the good weather and felt like people were getting a bit happier. Although it felt too warm for a coat and too cold to go without a coat! We are waiting for the warmth to come permanently.

There were two things this week that were a little more challenging. First thing was the raw amount of sugar that we had eaten! With all of the sodas, candy, and pastries I feel like we need a sugar fast for a year! The second thing was our bad planning because we put all of our appointments on one day! It was honestly not the end of the world and we are happy that we are still standing. Good lessons were learned and the spirit was felt in abundance. Life is really good,

Thank you everyone for all the prayers! I hope you have an amazing weeks!

In the Service of our Fellow Beings

Hello everyone!

This week has been pretty amazing and I love getting the opportunity to share what has happened. This week has been a lot of service and providing both physical and spiritual aid. With a few lessons mixed in.

The beginning of this week started kind of chaotically as we were trying to confirm our lesson times! We have had some amazing lessons throughout the week and we hope to teach even more. The best lessons were definetly the one with Behnam on Wednesday and with Amir on Friday. We taught some really cool principles most of them very simple but they are life changing principles! Though the gospel of Jesus Christ has many layers, it comes down to knowing who we are as children of God and trying to become like Jesus Christ. It is a message of hope.

The theme that we are focusing on this transfer is the Book of Mormon! That means that we are challenging ourselves to use it more and study it more. I loved the quote from President Benson a while ago when he said,"Not only do we need to SAY more aboout the Book of Mormon, but we need to DO more with it." We need to act so that people can act! That is one thing we have seen this week. We need to reach out and we need to set the example so that others can see it. You don't get anything done just by talking about it (sadly).

As for other things this week, we had a lot of service appointments. We got to serve a member who recently had his foot amputated and helped clean his apartment. Second, we had an appointment where we helped this family with some gardening. We have loved the opportunities to serve and we hope to serve more.

An honorable mention this week goes to Social Media work as we are part of the team that creates ads in Danish! It is such a cool thing to see technology change the mission in ways that have never been seen before! Facebook refferals are one of the best ways to find people now.

One of the funner things we did this week was have a district meeting and eating appointment! We had a taco bar and it was delicious. Nothing is better than spiritually uplifting each other just to eat some delicious food right after! We had a blast and then went strong into Sunday! Sunday was also amazing because we had a bunch of our friends come to Church. It was amazing to see so many people that were so interested in the gospel! We really hope this continues.

Thank you all for the emails! Only 9 left! I look forward to writing again next week! Thank you all for your prayers and for the support!

Training and some Teaching

Hello everyone!

This week has gone very well! We have had a lot of good appointments and we are looking forward to a good week. The mission keeps on going and I continue to see the Lords hand in our efforts and work.

To start out I will report and tell a little bit more about my trainee! His name is Elder DeMordaunt and he comes from Highland! He likes playing a lot of sports and is honestly really good at it! He is really full of surprises and it is crazy to see just how much he can do. His Danish is coming along really well and we love spending time together! I hope to be a good example and am really grateful I get to train him!!!!!

This week we had some pretty fun activities. We had an eating appointment at a Chinese member's house! She is insanely good at making Chinese food and it tastes so good! We have eaten at her place a couple of times but the last time was special. We also had an eating appointment with our bishop and they are such a good family. They were teaching us some cool stuff about Danish laws.

As for the work this week, we got to teach many lessons and had some really good spiritual moments! One person we taught referred himself through Facebook. He has been having some bad thoughts and wants to find some peace. He said that he knows this is the right way but he just needs to find some courage. We had a great lesson and he made it to Church!!!! He met a lot of members and loved the experience. He wants to come and learn a lot more. It's joyful to share these experiences with him.

Speaking of friends coming to church we had a lot of friends come to church! It is amazing to see so many friends come to church and to see them accept that this place feels like home! We are really happy for the work being done and extremely happy for the change in methods! We love social media and being able to record ads! It is nice to have some other stuff to do then the normal daily routine. Knocking can get boring fast...

As for the rest of the week we had a really good district council meeting on Friday! We had a good discussion about the Book of Mormon and shared a lot of cool experiences. We are focusing on chapter 5 from Preach My Gospel which has been fun to put in perspective. We get to share the Book of Mormon a lot but we need to know why it is so important and how we can use the convincing power to help others. Read and keep reading the Book of Mormon. I love it.

Thank you everyone for the emails! I love hearing from you all! I will write again next week!

New Trainee and a LOT of snow

Hello everyone! This last week has been pretty eventful!

The most important thing that has happened this week is that I received the missionary that I will be training! His name is Elder DeMordaunt and he comes from Highland Utah! He loves sports and he loves to be active! We have been having a lot of fun with each other! We love the work and his Danish is coming along so fast!

Before I received my new trainee we had a couple of eating appointments and had a final lunch as a hurrah to the district! We also had two eating appointments and just got to end the transfer on a really good note. We love the work and we are so happy to be able to work here.

As for some of the spiritual stuff, we have seen a lot of miracles in our lessons. We had two families come to church and our newly baptized member invited his brother. There are so many things to be thankful for and so many people to help! We had a particularly good time when we knocked on one door and then had the prompting to knock it again! We ended up talking for a while and invited them to Church. Even in our exhausted efforts, I still see how the Lord pushes us forward and we see success even in the little ways. I'm here for all the help and encouragement from the Lord.

I would just like to mention that I have only three months left! The thought sure has crossed my mind and I have felt the urgency of the work really cross my mind!. We are doing everything we can to find people and we really hope to make a difference. I have been reading a lot about faith and how to increase it! It all depends on our true desires. Make the change now to always have the desire to follow God. It is a blessing!

Thank you everyone for the support and for the emails! I wish you all a good week! I will write again next week!
