New Companion and A Senior Couple

 Hello everyone!

This has been a really good week but also some funny hiccups! Here is the list!

*This week introduced yet another companion to the lovely island of Bornholm! His name is Elder Baldwin! He comes from Las Vegas and has four siblings! He is the best and is always so cheerful! He has been out for a little over 3 months or 2 transfers! He has moved from Frederecia and is an absolute blast to serve with!

*We started the week with a lot of lessons and eating appointments with two of the best members! Wednesday morning we woke up very early and were expected to get on the Ferry and drive to Copenhagen. The next two days were a chaotic mix of being somewhat productive and just being flexible! We accidentally missed our ferry due to a mistake on my end. We ended up reaching the ferry at 8 oclock that sadly brought us home at midnight. When I called my mission president to tell him my mistake he was so kind and asked me to not do that again. It was sad and funny.

*We did indeed make it back to Bornholm safely although it had snowed a lot!! The next day consisted of planning a meeting with our lovely senior couple and some finding time! That was virtually all we did over the last couple of days on Bornholm. We have been really pushing for some more activities and love the members' effort so much!.We are really looking forward to some activities happening here on the Island!

Now as a quick spiritual note, this week we had some absolutely amazing lessons and that led to some amazing experiences! We keep seeing the hand in the lord guiding us to the places that we need to be. All in all, we have gotten a big opportunity to serve here during this time and we will be taking advantage of it! One thing I have taken from it is this thought: 'How we can be more sincere in our efforts'. We have felt the Lord guide us as we really use this statement as a means of growth!

Thank you so much everyone for your support! We are so thankful for all the prayers and emails that we receive! It really makes a difference to see how things are going back in the homeland! Ill see you all next week!

Another trip to Copenhagen and Transfer News

Hello everyone, this has been quite a good week so lets get some of the highlights out there!

We began this week quite busy during a zone P day! We got some amazing time to hang out with missionaries and have some fun! Tuesday was our Zone Konference and it was amazing! We loved the format they had for the messages they shared. We were engaged the entire time and really felt like we had learned something and developed a greater focus! I think the more I have been in the mission the more I see the little details in things so it was fun to get to have some good take aways from the Konference! My biggest takeaway was probably that we need to focus our efforts on the things that we find success in! That means that we need to take a second sometimes to plan to be effective and not plan to just do something. A good mission lesson, and a good life lesson.

We had the splits the next day with our district leader, Elder Bobo (My Old Companion), and had a really good time finding. We contacted a lot and had an eating appointment! We ended up not having a full day cause we needed to travel to Copenhagen and sleep in the Zls apartment in order to reach our ferry the next day.

We got on the ferry early Thursday morning and made it back in time for our ward activity which, sadly, one came to. We had some good experiences on this day but Friday was even better! On Friday we had some good lessons and taught one of our friends how to pray and what it means to pray. We thought it was very cool that she asked us to pray for her in the end. Prayer is powerful and I am grateful for this line to heaven and to experience that with this sister was very memorable.

On Saturday we had another lesson with Samson and showed him around the church building! He is learning fast and we believe is accepting quite a lot. It really is amazing to see how many good questions he has and how many good thoughts he has. We had a great time teaching the rest of the Plan of Salvation! We hope to teach him how to pray out loud and invite him to really ponder and apply. I am so grateful to be here with him and to be able to participate in teaching him. It has really been a blessing to me.

We ended Saturday with an eating appointment with our friend, Klaus! He is an amazing Dane that loves talking with the missionaries and helping them learn Danish! He takes his distance from being too involved but honestly we can see how much he cares and we hope to help him come even closer to his Savior!

The big spiritual insight came during our preperation for the Sunday School lesson on Sunday! We were talking about Ether 1 to 5 and we found a cool thought that really focuses on Chapter 2. It is when the Brother of Jared gives the threee questions to the Lord of:
1. How will we steer ourselves?
2. How will we have air?
3. How will we have light?

These three questions were answered in three different ways and give us a glimpse at How god will often answer our prayers!
1. He answered this questions by saying trust in me! He said trust that the winds that I will send forth shall guide you to the promised land!
2. He gave a direct answer and said do this! He answered by giving a solution!
3. He answered by saying,"How do you want me to do it?" Instead of just telling us how to do something he gave the opportunity for the Brother of Jared to give his opinion and act in faith! The Brother of Jared then did so and came to the Lord with his idea! The Lord confirmed the idea and praised the Faith that he had!

These three answers give us glimpse as to how God really will answer our prayers but just in different ways often giving us direction while asking us to make effort and come with solutions! The entire time trusting in Him!

The best news of all is that I get to stay on Bornholm one more transfer. I may have prayed for this and strongly hinted to my mission president that I desired to do so. I feel an extremely strong connection to this island and to my ancestors who once lived here. I am grateful to spend the Christmas season here and to enter my sixth month on this island! I feel so lucky and blessed.

Thank you all for all the prayers and support! I am so lucky to be serving here at this time! Ill see yall next week!

Preparing Bornholm and a Sick Companion

Hello everyone,

This week has been a weirdly long week for how little it felt like we did! This week consisted of al ot of traveling back and forth from Copenhagen to Bornholm! s!

To begin the week we had some epic splits! We got to contact on the streets for a while and had some good contacts! We then drove to Copenhagen and prepared to go back to Bornholm the next day where we brought a senior couple back with us.  They worked with us for a while in order to prepare an apartment in Bornholm for the new senior couple that has been delayed due to visa problems. We did a lot of cleaning and decluttering but it is looking good!

The next day was sad because my companion got sick, probably from something he ate. We took it slow and gave him some time to rest! The apartment has never been cleaner! ðŸ˜‚

After my companion got better we had some good work days on Saturday and Sunday! We have been working hard in order to make up for some lost time! We had some great lessons and successful contacts! We also had a miracle happen as one of our friends showed up to church! That was the first friend to show up the entire transfer and we saw that as a big miracle for us and the branch! She loved coming and just had a blast with the members.

Although sickness and physical problems will get in the way, they can never stop the work of the Lord! He will always find a way for his sheep to hear his voice!

We have had a Zone P day today and love the opportunity to see all the missionaries and have some fun! We will have a Zone Conference tomorrow so it was fun to take a break before getting back to work!

Thank you everyone for your support and I hope that you all have an amazing week! Here are some pictures of our time in Copenhagen and Slagelse!

Stake Konference and some good memories!

Hello everyone!

This week has been very good and we have done quite a lot of good stuff!

To start this week though we had some great experiences going to Halse where we taught some cool people! That day we taught a lot about prayer. I studied a lot more about prayer from the scriptures after that and found some cool stories along with some more stories that I have personally experienced. I realized this week that studying with the intent to learn something for the benefit of another really makes things a little easier! If you ever don't know what to study just find a way to serve someone you know or send them something Spiritual thought of!

As for the next couple of days, we were very busy with contacts but didn't teach too many big lessons where we thought that there was much progress. We had some great discussions but nothing stood out too much. We have also been having quite a bit of fun with the members on Thursdays as our weekly activity! We shared a spiritual thought and got some really good thoughts across! Mormon 1 to 6 are some really good chapters! Give it a read!

However, on Friday, we had a really exceptional day! We had planned two big lessons. We taught one of our friends Samson about the Plan of Salvation and we could see that some things were clicking! The signs and circumstances were "too perfect". The next lesson we taught was with a mom and her son that we had served before. The spirit was strong and we are excited to continue working with them. Samson is a good person and eager to learn.

Over this last weekend we were in Copenhagen. We had some good time with some of the missionaries and got to meet some of the members! I met this one guy that I had met before named Tobias. He has been taught by the missionaries for a while and he has changed quite a lot! We also went to a Stake Conference the next day where we ended up driving to Slagelse after in order to meet with our district for Pday today. Today has been filled with a lot of board games and food! We got some unlimited sushi along with some Catan! We had a great day!

Thank you everyone for your prayers! We are thankful to be able to serve and for the support that we feel from everyone!
